Richmond Oak ltd create and construct hardwood conservatories and orangeries made from oak in an around the County of Somerset including but not restricted to Bath, Bridgewater, Bristol, Cheddar, Chard, Crewkerne, Glastonbury, Frome, Midsomer Norton, Long Ashton, Shepton Mallet, Minehead, Taunton, Watchet, Wells, Wincanten, Weston Super Mare and Yeovil. Each conservatory is hand constructed by master tradesmen using traditional skills.
Somerset Oak – Cathedrals & Burial Grounds
Oak trees in Somerset were used as monoliths at the entrance of neolithic burial chambers and provided building material for cathedrals and great halls for over a thousand years. Oak was used to smelt iron during the Industrial Revolution and was used for shipbuilding by the British Navy.
